Formerly Societe Air France, S.A. Air France is the French flag carrier, headquartered in Tremblay-en-France, located at north Paris. It is a subsidiary of the Air France–KLM group and a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance. Air France’s major hub is at Charles de Gaulle Airport with Orly Airport, Lyon—Saint Exupéry Aéroport, Marseille Provence Airport, Toulouse Blagnac Airport, and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, serving as its secondary hubs.
Origins and Ownership
Air France was formed on the 7th of october in the Year 1933, from a merger of five different airlines. From 1950 to 1990, it was one of the three main allied scheduled airlines, operating in Germany at West Berlin’s Tempelhof and Tegel airports. In 1990, it acquired the operations of French Domestic carrier Air Inter and international rival: Union de Transports Aeriens. It serve as France’s national flag carrier for seven decades, prior to its 2003 merger with KLM.
Frédéric Gagey, born on June 29, 1956; is a French businessman and the current Chief Executive Office of Air France. He was declared the position since, July 1, 2013. Mr. Gagey is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique (ENSAE). He also holds a Masters in Economics from the Universite de Paris 1.
Air France flies to about 35 destinations within France and about 170 destinations in 93 other countries. Non-stop flights are available to points across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America. International long-haul flights typically feature three or four classes of service. For short- and medium-haul flights within Europe, the airline uses a three-cabin configuration. Air France has hubs at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Orly Airport (ORY).

“I’ve flown so many times with this company, when I came back from Manchester in 2011, when I went to New-York and Boston in 2012 and when I went to California in 2013 and everytime everything was alright (minus a few turbulences on sime flights). And is was the same experience this time when I went to BCN. Everyone on board was very nice and friendly and professional. Both flights were pleasant, minus the return one was very bumpy at the beginning! I always enjoy flying with AirFrance.”

“I cannot say enough good things about our experience on Air France last month. The seats were ROOMY and so comfortable I did not need my back pillow. They fed us breakfast AND dinner AND snacks AND had ice cream available in the back. Alcoholic beverages were free. In-flight entertainment was plentiful and diversified. Staff was pleasant, accommodating, helpful. Bathrooms were kept CLEAN the entire trip! I felt as if I was flying back in the 1960s when customers were valued. Of course, most of my experience lately has been with domestic airlines that chose to put profit before customer service. Other international airlines have been better than domestic, but Air France experience stands out.”

Judging from the reviews given by the previous and loyal passengers of Air France, it seems that their services we’re fully enjoyed by their customers, though I’ve found some reviews that contains complaints to the airlines; like how old their cabins were, or their seats are not reclining, or for some instances—staff neglecting incidents. And I think that France Airline is aware of these and I’m sure they’ve had—or they are doing something to aid these matters as a response to their passenger’s complaints and make their flight experiences more smooth and convenient.
